So I last updated when I pretty much graduated. Since then, things have been such a blur and the summer has come and gone quickly. Suddenly the next chapter...in fact, one of the most difficult chapters in my life will start. I begin the police academy on October 2nd....that will be my life until april 25th. But all of it will pay off and it will be a rewarding road to conquer. If I seem to drop off the planet for about 6 months, that is why. True, I will have free nights and some weekends, but I am most likely going to be tired as hell. Not only am I going to have to complete that, but also following that is a 4 month field training program and then 6 months of probation. This means I have to be the best I can be for over a year. After that, I am going to be in one if the most exciting and rewarding fields EVER. Every day I will be looking out for my community. Every day I will be the one running toward the danger while everyone else runs away. There may be a chance I might have to take a life. There may be a chance I may have to sacrifice mine for another. There may be a chance I can save the world. And there may be a chance that one day I might not come home. But I hope to leave an imprint in the community I serve. I want people to remember me as courageous, as a hero. I want to spend my career helping others and serving others. April 25th...you seem so far, but really...only an accomplishment away....

The past few weeks have been all about the "lasts." I had my last tomo meeting, my last tomo semi-formal, my last tomo afterevent, my last class, my last CCC office hours, and the list goes on... I guess it really doesn't hit you until you don't have to drive or walk to UCI anymore. But you know, you have to let go sometime, and i think i'm ready to move on to the next chapter of my life.

thought of the day: i wonder how dogs are attracted to each other...is it the same way humans are attracted to each other? i mean...does a dog walk down the street and think "damn that bitch is fiiiiiine"
